About Brooke Flemming
Brooke Flemming is a 25-year-old multidisciplinary artist with a focus in painting and sculpture. Utilizing multi-media to create stylistically dynamic artworks that explore her inner world. Currently attending Cal State Channel Islands for a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts and an Art History minor, while working freelance on the side. Brooke’s Studio Arts skills interweave with each other, just like her passion for the environment, which is deeply ingrained in each of her works. In both sculpture and painting, Brooke captures her inner emotions and the fluidity of persona out into the world through textured pieces. Diving into themes of nostalgia and escapism while exploring multimedia as a way to tell new stories. She frequently incorporates found objects and gives them new life to connect to her deep passion for environmentalism.
“Sanctuary” (2025) and “Mind Garden” (2024) are prime examples of her marine debris artworks. These pieces are primarily assembled with found objects, textiles, and marine debris, which are picked up from Santa Rosa Island through CSUCI’s Marine Debris Program. Buoys, ropes, plastics, etc., once polluting our oceans turned into expressive artworks standing for the conservation of our delicate wildlife.
